Etihad Rail Overview
Etihad Rail, based in 2009, is the UAE’s nationwide railway developer and operator.
Its community spans key UAE ports, industrial centres, and all seven emirates, with deliberate connections to neighbouring GCC nations.
Aligned with the UAE’s Imaginative and prescient 2021 and Abu Dhabi’s Financial Imaginative and prescient 2030, Etihad Rail promotes diversification and improved connectivity.
The railway’s improvement is progressing in phases.
Stage One, operational since 2016, hyperlinks the inland gasoline fields of Liwa and Shah to Ruwais port, dealing with as much as 22,000 tonnes of sulphur every day.
Stage Two, accomplished in early 2023, extends 605km from the Saudi border to Fujairah.
A future Stage Three will increase 279km to hyperlink Dubai to Fujairah and Ras al-Khaimah.
