The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has introduced the primary container cargo by way of railway from Jubail Industrial Port to Riyadh Dry Port.
This cargo, consisting of 78 containers, utilised the railway hyperlink between the Jubail Industrial Port and the East Railway community. The railway has a most load capability of 140 TEU per journey.
MAWANI collaborated with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (GAZT), Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), and Mediterranean Delivery Firm (MSC). This collaboration goals to advertise seamless transportation of containers, bulk supplies, and basic items by establishing rail connections between ports.
The SAR networks reportedly facilitate connectivity between the Riyadh Dry Port and varied ports together with King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail, Jubail Industrial Port, and Ras Al-Khair Port.
Furthermore, MAWANI entered right into a partnership settlement with Saudi Arabia Railways in early April to determine a unified framework and undertake a basic organisational and legislative mannequin for cargo transportation actions to and from MAWANI’s ports by way of railways.
