TASHKENT: Uzbekistan and Qatar on Monday mentioned the conclusion of the Trans-Afghan Railway building undertaking, Tends reported Pattern.
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation from Qatar led by Prime Minister and International Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to assessment the undertaking.
The talks encompassed increasing bilateral cooperation in commerce, economics, funding, and transportation sectors. President Mirziyoyev emphasised the strong political dialogue and the rising commerce and funding between the 2 nations.
Either side underscored the importance of fostering joint funding initiatives and establishing environment friendly mechanisms for his or her monetary backing promptly.

Earlier, in October 2023, Uzbekistan Railways JSC offered the Trans-Afghan Railway undertaking to Qatar’s Ministry of Transport. Subsequently, deliberations have been held on Qatar’s involvement within the undertaking’s execution.
In February 2021, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan signed a roadmap for the Termez-Mazar-I-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway building. The envisioned transport hall, estimated at roughly $5 billion, goals to attach Europe, Russia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Southeast Asian nations, boasting a transit capability of as much as 20 million tons of cargo.
